2 are better than 1

I got married because 2 are better than 1.

The Bible affirms this: Ecclesiastes 4:9-12: “Two are better than one, because they have a good return for their labor: If either of them falls down, one can help the other up. But pity anyone who falls and has no one to help them up. Also, if two lie down together, they will keep warm. But how can one keep warm alone? Though one may be overpowered, two can defend themselves.
A cord of three strands is not quickly broken.”

What do you do when your spouse cannot do anything due to a degenerative movement disorder? We needed her labor to supplement retirement income. She cannot work. She falls and I struggle to pick her up. She cannot keep me warm at night. She sleeps in a hospital bed because she urinates a lot at night. I sleep beside her in another bed. She cannot defend me physically or verbally in an argument.

But God has not left us alone. The chord of three strands are our three children. They do what they are able to help.
